A Tribute to Moondog
A Tribute to Moondog is a visual requiem—four perspectives within a single drawing, each dedicated to a song by Moondog. Inspired by George Condo’s explorations of mental states, this work dissolves the boundaries between emotion, sound, and form, capturing the fluidity of feeling and perception.
Each rotation reveals a new face of the composition, reflecting the de-structured essence of its musical influences—Fog on the Hudson, Frost Flower, Rimshot, and Dog Trot—where melodies and memories unravel and reassemble in a continuum of personal and fictional emotion.
This piece is both an homage and a dialogue, echoing the avant-garde spirit of the Viking of 6th Avenue, whose music continues to shape unseen landscapes of the mind.
